I buy cars in Silver and Black. Sometimes in Gun Metallic and sometimes a black color that is a little blue. I have an Alpina Blue Alpina B7 that I get a lot of compliments on but it looks Purple to me (this car was a gift so I had no say in the color and it is a good color for a MIA based car). I think you should buy whatever color you like and enjoy it and not care what other people like because I see cars painted red and pink and brown that I would not buy. But then as long as those drivers are happy what do they care what I think?

In all candor, I would have bought a GT Silver but my wife loved, loved, loved the Miami Blue GTS we bought as my car. Since then, I've never regretted the choice. I've previously owned some pretty attention grabbing cars but this one blows all of them away for compliments. Biggest issue is it will artificially reduce exuberant driving.
I can honestly say that unless it is parked right next to a car that is Mexico Blue you will rarely see green, if at all - here are a couple of mine (at least through tomorrow when it gets picked up):
But your picture is a perfect example of how Miami doesn't photograph accurately in most lighting. It looks more blue and less like the teal shade it really is in real life. That GT4 picture right below your post is a much more accurate representation of Miami.
Again, I'm not knocking the color. Color is personal. I'm just saying people should not make a decision on a color like this from pictures on the Internet. It's critical to see certain colors in person in various lighting and Miami is one of those colors.
17280961[/url]]Thanks for all the comments everyone, i appreciate it. I reached out to the dealership and they informed me that someone has already put a deposit down on the car but will let me know if the deal falls through. With my luck, I am sure I won't be hearing from them...so, yeah...a bit disappointed, but i think it is a little unrealistic for me to think I can find and buy a car the same weekend I started to look. Anyway, the hunt continues and I think I will enjoy the ride.
I do have a question that I posted in an earlier post. I will be trading in my Tesla to purchase the cayman, but for instances where I find a car in another state (like the one I just lost out on), what is the best way to go about moving forward? Do I sell my car locally for what i see as a fair price for my car or drive my car to the state that the car I want is located and take my chances that I do not get a low ball offer for my trade in? The Miami Blue Cayman was in Jersey so that would have been a 6 to 7 hour drive. Would suck to go that far or farther only to be given a trade in value that is less that stellar.
I found a private buyer for my car and then took it for a trade-in price at the dealer. The delta was over 20%. People are dying for good used cars right now. I’d sell private. If you post it and don’t get one query a day from a private buyer you’ve overpriced it. To find the right price, take it into the dealer and ask what they would pay on a trade. List it for 20% over that and drop the price every three days until you get a steady flow of buyers.
I was torn between a python green cayman T and a black boxster T and got the black one a month ago. Mostly went with the black bc I live in Miami and (correctly, so far) imagined I'd get a ton of use out of the convertible. I have always had black on black cars and so I am partial to that as well. BUT there have been several days that I have wondered had a python green boxster T been on the menu would I be enjoying it more? I simply will not allow myself to have any regret over such a thing because I think it would be kind of absurd to allow it to cloud the fact that I have a brand new amazing machine in a color ive always been fond of...but at the same time... given your posts in this thread you should get the effing Miami blue immediately and never look back.
I just bought my 4th Cayman. First was Cobalt Blue, then Speed Yellow, then Racing Yellow, and now Miami Blue. I loved the yellow cars, but Miami Blue is in a league of its own. I love it. Good luck!
Some people buy a $100k car to feel different than the masses.
No better way to feel different than a super rare color.
A 10% premium for a super rare custom color is a bargain for many people.
In fact, if you're paying $100k for a new car, it's stupid NOT to spend another $10k on a super rare color.
It pays for itself, and then some, in resale value.

Unless the goal of buying the car isn't to yell 'look at me' to the rest of the world.
