I have the 718 S without Sport Chrono or PASM. It is still an incredibly fun car and there is no way I can ever really push it to its higher end limits on public roads and even highways. Though I do what I can and I smile a lot doing it.

So my car was handed over with the wrong owners manuals in it somehow and I have to go pick them up but weather is icy today in Dallas and I am experiencing the proximity sensors and backup camera coming on whenever I stop the car at a stoplight or go through a drive-through. Is there a way to turn that off? Please help. The sound alone is driving me nuts…

There's a button up by the rear view mirror. Has "P-)))" on it.

It's always the second button you hit after you turn on the motor.

Congratulations on your 718S. I spec'ed a base 718 Boxster to add to a 991.2 GTS, and purposely did NOT spec it with SC because I wanted to heal toe and rev match on my own, without choice. Pedal set up for that is perfect, and I've really perfected my skills. And the 718 is a blast, in sunny weather over 45° the 911 stays in garage. Good luck, and stay off those icy Texas roads!

Traction control full off disables automatic rev matching. If only it were easier to discover.

Well duh, full aware. And even easier to leave it alone and use the perfect automatic rev matching all the time.

That’s what I do in this car and in my 911. Easier to do in this Cayman for whatever reason. It’s 12f out and I’m not driving but there is a white GTS sitting out on the street.......

Hello, I am jumping from a 981 with PSE to a 718 Cayman S, manual transmission.
I do not mind pops and gurgles from the exhaust; but since my car coming with Sport Chrono does that mean I will not have the lively sounding exhaust?

You'll get exhaust poopsies in Sport mode.

And since MY 2019 the 718 comes with PSE standard. Previously a 3 grand option unless GTS.

This was a helpful read for someone newly shopping for a Boxster. I was thinking 981 (and have yet to drive one) but I drove two 718's (Base Cayman 6spd and Boxster S PDK) and LOVED the Boxster S (but want stick). So it's nice to read others newly discovering these cars and jumping in.

Congrats!

Oh, and post pics or it didn't happen!
