2019 718 Cayman S
Looking for some opinions...
i currently have a '13 Boxster S, 6MT, silver w red interior, second owner. We love that car but hardly ever drive it...only on days with certain weather (like now...Florida winters are great for a convertible). As a result, we are looking for a change and I've found a '19 Cayman S w the PDK. it was a PCNA exec car so almost new (3k miles, full warranty and certified), price is $22k off original msrp which seems consistent with the various benchmarks. Seems like a good trade but figured we'd ask the forum...
thanks in advance

Drive it first as you're going from NA manual to turbo PDK and only you'll know if it suits you.
I have driven both and the experience is quite different both on speed/linearity and of course sound.
I suspect the biggest difference for you will be the PDK and whether or not you get bored with it.

Can't tell if it was tracked but the dealer swears that it wasn't used for that purpose. I've had the chance to drive it a few times. It's clearly faster than my Boxster S and I can't compete with the quickness of the PDK gear changes. Other than that, it feels like the same car, minus the obvious convertible top and different engine sound. I am considering a 911 as well but it would probably have to be 2014/5 so still leaning toward the 718.

As far as the 911 , I had one, nothing wrong with either car. I think going newer and longer warranty is a good way to go. I was looking for a newer S or GTS and had to chose fast when one came up. Not much inventory. Mine had 4900 miles.

Nice! Never even seen by engine (2018 BGTS). I removed the fuse that supposedly disables the fake sound device but would rather just take it out and burn it. Was it difficult to get to and remove? Please advise and thank you for the pictures.

I also had the fuse out but this time while I was there I removed it. Fuse is still out, I guess I should fuse out?? Very simple but takes 1/2 hour the first time. If you have ever had the top cover off then this is even easier. I just had to do it to see in there. I should live by "if it ain t broke don t fix it" but I can t help myself, LOL.
Let me try and remember. Top brace, 2 torques screws each side. Then pop of seat belt area covers, then section below that, then one cover each side above seat belt retainer area, top plastic cover that the crossbar sat on, remove carpet .
10-12 bolts and cover and sound maker will all come off. Basically just keep removing any screws/bolts. Nothing is super tight cause they are only covers.
Edit, just realized if you have a Boxer disregard , LOL.
U tube has more vid s on the boxer engine access FYI.
