Doing a GT4 bodykit on a base Boxster is kind of like sticking an "R" badge on a Civic.

I don’t fault someone for wanting to improve the look of the front end of the 718. The stock 718 front bumper is awful IMO. I just wouldn’t use Chinese knock off parts to do it.

Each "R" badge mounted gives roughly 5 more horsepower.

As an aside, I was never tempted to put an R badge on my turbo civic as a teenager, but it was still riced to hell - good times . Fix-it ticket magnet. I did lust after the Integra Type-R's, though - that yellow with the gun-metal gray rims. I ended up with a yellow ap1 s2000 at some point later, great car! At least I got the yellow fever out of my system at a younger age.

After multiple calls trying to find out where my order was, I was told they had a bunch of orders all at once and they were being made "in-house." Took about about another 2.5 weeks to get the part in the mail. Item arrived damaged, and needed professional work to fix. Item was also missing hardware for installation. No one was interested in helping after purchase.

About a month after I had the item professionally installed, someone on the FB 718 page found out the NR Auto wing was also the $300 wing sold on ebay. Obviously with significant markup.
Ouch. Good to know, though in my case NR Auto is only a 15 min drive away, so I could get in their faces, if necessary lol.

I don't think this necessarily stacks up. Sure if you have a relatively new 718 then by all means no point trying to make it into a GT4 as I agree it will cost you just as much.

However, your 718 is a year or two old taking into account the effects of depreciation the cost to upgrade to a new GT4 is still greater than the cost of installing a few aero parts.

But you still end up with a poser.

And just so it doesn’t seem like I’m being mean to millennials or am some sort of old curmudgeon Porsche fanboy I have had a healthy distain for 911 “Turbo Look” factory cars since the mid 80’s and don’t get me started on Corvette Grand Sports

made my conversion using Chinese oem. I think the front bumper is out of shape. Looks more like gt3 rather than gt4,

The pictures you provided are from your car??? If so, I don't understand what you mean. Looks nearly perfect and definitely nothing like a GT3.

I can see you took some inspiration with colors and stripes from 911 Turbo S Exclusive manufaktur, looks good!

I understand that the bumper is not looking exactly like the GT4 one. But apart from that, how do you like the looks / fitment / quality / aerodynamics?
Would you buy it again?
Closer photos of fitment and carbon lip would be appreciated!

hi bro, here are my ratings:
looks : 7 ( due to front bumper ofcoz and the rear super big Clubsport spoiler. A standard gt4 spoiler shld be better)
fitment :7 ( will dm u a close up pics on fitments when i got the time bro)
quality : 6 ( frp feels so vulnerable )
aerodynamics : not expert in this field.
For some extra info, i got it around 5500grand include installation.

I think it looks ok. You need to take some photos out on the street with maybe less of a wide angle and it might look better. Even the real 718 GT4 can look odd in close ups.

I paid $2000 shipped, which includes a spare spoiler lip (my request).

It'll be a good 6 to 8 weeks before my body shop has it. Since I skipped the carbon fiber lip overlay option (a bit too much gloss for me, though it does look nice), I'll ask my body shop to fill in the "GT4" text embedded on the lip and smooth it out before painting since that bothers me.

Another reason I'm in a gambling mood: my OEM GTS bumper is out of alignment and somewhat bent in one spot thanks to an E-scooter that blew through a red light and right into my driver side fender / bumper, so yeah, it's hard to imagine this new bumper looking much worse. A replacement OEM bumper is $2500 + shipping, which also motivated me to look into other options...

As for aero balance, I already have a replica 981 GT4 rear spoiler installed, FWIW.
whatever happened with this?
