Default The stealers are pushing 718's

I just got an email from the local Porsche stealer offering me $14,760.00 for my 2014 Boxster S with 33k on the odometer and all service records up to date. He said he would make me a great deal on a 718. Hahaha, no thank you. Actually I told him never to email me again.

You should've countered with $54,760 out of spite for low-balling you.

Sure, take my trade for 10 less than it is worth and sell me the new one for 20 less. Why get so butt hurt? it was probably a computer generated letter. I still get letters offering to buy my Astra. It's been gone 5 years. When my daughter was in second or third grade we got the post card with the winning key. She was psyched, i then had her read the fine print. Took her a few minutes to grasp what it said. The guy is trying to make a living no need to shyt on him or her.

- They have excess inventory of 718.
- They know they can sell used 6-cyl Boxsters/Caymans at a premium.
- ???
- Profit.

Any offer from a dealer to buy your anything (Ford van) is an attempt to profit. Like TomR said no need to get upset. It is a ridiculous offer.

unsolicited lowball offers like that would always make me upset. there's a difference in my opinion between making a living and insulting people

Cropping anything from Roger Deakins to 4:3 = definitely an insult!

Then don't go on KBB or Carfax to get the value of your car. Chances are you will get insulted. I know I should have been insulted when I brought my 07 Cayman S with 43k miles to the KBB authorized dealer or whatever they call it through autotrader in May. My buddy met me there. He has a Boxster, 968, and 350Z convertible. He, being a friend who doesn't need another car made me the obnoxiously low offer of 18.5 so I could buy the 07 Cayman S with 78k miles that I now have. The Dealer offered less. We both laughed, and a few months later I sold it to another service through cars.com for significantly more. go figya

KBB on my '13 981BS is in the $32K-$35K range. A $14,760 offer for a 2014 model is more incompetence than insult, unless the car in question is literally under water.

If they want me to trade for a 718, it had better be an even swap, and the 718 had better say "GTS 4.0" on the side.

what's your point? You didnt get the solicitation, and you assume somebody actually reviewed the mailers before they went out. .

Seems a bit defensive. A $14K offer for a 981S is funny. Laugh.

And help support Tesla and other companies who are working to end the destructive artificial hegemony of the auto dealer lobby. We don't need these rent-seeking assclowns, and we'd be better off without them.
