718 Spyder or GT4?

No, manual spyder perfect modern running mate as dedicated street drop top to combine with track-focused PDKS 3rs (imo); which is where I’m coming from on the decision. I’m trying to talk myself into 3rs + spyder replacing a slew of other stuff. But, never was a question for me.

This is the First time the Boxster is a true GT car. This is Big News!
And the only other Porsche GT car without a solid roof and a proper NA 6 cylinder costs almost 3X more!
Seems like a no-brainer.
If you prefer the Cayman, I would just get a previous gen GT4 and save about $50k. Power to weight and torque to weight is essentially unchanged.

I drove a 991.1 GT3 RS last week. What a beast. I still haven't gotten over it. If it had a manual transmission I would've bought it on the spot. The motor and the Graham Rahal exhaust made the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Truly an amazing car.
God bless,

On the other hand, since the Speedster is unobtanium destined for low km collectors, driving a Spyder really appeals to me for open top street. Paired with an RS? I agree, both street and track are well covered 👍

Thinking of adding this to compliment the GT3 Touring:

Nice spec. I had the exact same idea coming the other way around... do I get a GT3T to compliment my 981Spyder? They do have their differences but in the end I wanted to cover a wider field- GT3RS for track and 981 Spyder for road... which I prefer for its road biased non-GT track biased suspension. On the other hand if u know u just like manual flat sixes, go for it

The Spyder now shares the GT3 front suspension along with the GT4 for the first time. So don’t expect a more forgiving ride than those cars.

Exactly. The 981 Spyder had road biased sports suspension. the Speedster has GT3 suspension adjusted for road like the 911R. But 718 Spyder shares the GT4 track suspension... not exactly a forgiving ride for street

Especially since GT3 MT was reintroduced, GT4 appeal has really narrowed for me.
