Gosh! I thought my dealer was charging me $$$ for an oil and filter change service. C&D's is almost double.

That was also spark plugs though.

Edit: Never mind, I see the previous oil change cost.

Yes, I was reading the paper magazine. Online, if you read the 20,000 miles update, it list $600 for the oil and filter change. Well, plus cabin air filters. My local Porsche dealer does all that on my 992.1 for less than $300 and I am already complaining. Are the parts for the 718 more special ?

That would be a 991.2. Both pollen filters, 8 quarts of oil, drain plug, o-ring and filter element will be no less than $100 dealer-cost. Probably a bit higher. If your dealer is *actually* doing the service then $300 is a good deal for California.

Next time they charge you for pollen filters, pull the engine bay filter yourself and see if it’s new or not.

Nice read

Would be nice if C&D evaluated the depreciation as well. Nationwide there's one 2017 718 Boxster S with 40k miles and it's selling for $59k. That car new was $84k MSRP per the Porsche build sheet available on the locator. How does that compare with the competition? I've been pricing a lot of 2016 Spyders lately and they are all selling very close to their original MSRP. In some cases over, especially if they have PCCB. We should all be driving Spyders!! I stupidly traded mine last year, but I'm not going to put that kind of high mileage on a weekend toy.

For thoughts on depreciation try this :
