I personally prefer the onboard nav system that is independent of cell phone coverage. Inevitably, when I really need navigation, there is no cell service.
I think I’m going to like the Cayman T. Though it is hard for me to contemplate spending ~$75k for a car with only 300 bhp. It would be low man on the totem pole in our garage. It will be interesting to see the price difference between a 718T and a 718S that are configured apples-to-apples as much as possible. 300 vs. 350 bhp is a bigger difference on the 718 than 370 vs. 420 was for thr 991.

Here are my thoughts on the Cayman T, now that I've had some time to reflect on the release details. It's basically a parts bin car. The seats and fabrics are straight from the Carrera T (nice upgrade though). They now offer the PASM Sport from the S/GTS and threw in standard 20" wheels, door decals and mirrors painted in grey. The only unique things are the shortened gearshift and the PADM system. My main concern is that this formula works fine on the base Carrera, because some may argue it's the best driving motor within the 991.2 range (outside of the NA GT cars of course). However, this same formula does not translate to the base 718, due to the 2.0 turbo motor. I'm not going to say it's bad, but it certainly isn't on the same level as the S/GTS. I think this formula would be a home run if they used the S motor and slotted it between the S and GTS, as rumored. Then throw in the bucket seats and lightweight glass, and you would have had a budget GT car.
The one thing that is still not clear is if it will be offered with the buckets as an option in the US, although based on this pic, it looks to be offered at least in some markets.

If Porsche doesn’t want to introduce a non-GT4/Spyder flat 6 718, I hope they at least offer front axle lift this time around to mitigate my concerns regarding parking garages, speed bumps etc. I can put up with the hassle of a manual top Spyder if I have to, despite the inconvenience and negligible weight savings it provides.

Here are some weight-to-power ratios using data from the configurator.
718 Base - 9.81 #/hp
718 S - 8.53 #/hp
911T - 8.49 #/hp
I have driven a base 718. It was quite drivable in 6-MT form. Nevertheless, 300 bhp for a car that will price-out with a few options in the $70-$80k range is a bit wimpy.

I just don't think the T concept translates well from the Carrera to the Cayman platform. $80k for a stripper car with all the performance of a Golf R doesn't seem like a great deal to me. And if it they don't offer LWBs standard in the U.S., it's really not anything more than a base Cayman.

Do we know whether the US version will have the particle filter?

The configurator is now available on the UK Porsche site.

Phew! Now I don't regret getting my 718 Cayman GTS this past weekend. It's still pretty cool that Porsche decided to offer a special edition at this price point. It should really help sales of the base 718 and maybe entice a new audience to the brand. I think it looks great too!

A 718T wouldn't start at $80k. It would have to slot between the base 718 and the 718S. Figure on low 60's.
I felt the 2 liter had plenty of scoot. It would be intriguing to me if this really gets the LWB's.
As for the test mule that was seen on the ring. It looks like a GT4 Touring to me.
