Once the Soundaktor is disconnected, I actually like the sound of the 4 cylinder at all RPM's.

update: yes, the soundaktor sucks...the car is so much better without it.

I keep thinking how different the reviews for this car would have been without the Soundaktor. This stupid device totally changed the character of the car for the worse. A really bad decision on Porsche's part.

Flat six purists will never be satisfied with any other sound.

I myself will readily admit I find the sound of the 981 more to my liking but not to the point where I would give up the extra performance.

But that's just me, my neighbor said the opposite when driving my 718, better performance but the sound killed it for him.

Unplugged the fuse last week and it's much more pleasant in the cabin now. Exhaust sounds throatier and I can hear the induction sound now.

BTW, my neighbor across the street with a 991.2 Turbo S thinks my 718 sounds great. My response was, "What?! Really?!"

Big difference with the Soundaktor fuse pulled. No more mind numbing drone.

Does anyone know where this is on 2020+ cars? I dont have the fuse in the R passenger side fuse panel (trunk) OR the control module on the left side

Thats because i dont have the soundaktor in the cabin in my spyder


looks like just a tube in the center there

That looks like the Sound Symposer. Plug the tube. Does it make a difference? If so, then that's what it is.

Interesting, if you have one on each side then I don t know what it is.
If you have grill covers thru the carpet then I d guess they are music sound speakers. I have a Cayman so I don t have what you show.

Did more research. On the spyder is an actual tube. I put a microfiber towel in it. Heres a couple pics from the pca vid showing the spyder engine bay
