Update: I've been vented and wrapped for a year with no overheating or limp mode in about 20 - 25 track days (PCA white level/ MoE advanced). Had full limp mode (no boost) at the end of a 30 minute session at Watkins Glen this weekend (very hot, very humid, and I may have been overdriving the car a bit). Stock 2018 CS PDK drive train, no tune or exhaust. A couple of other times boost limited to 6 - 7 psi. Chris Brown (cbracerx here) had told me that he had one other client with similar experience - one isolated limp mode experience with otherwise protracted success with wrapped/venting.

So no big deal and no changes to my plan to track the car long-term, just wanted to update the thread.

For this weather, removing the undertray might be needed until a V2 fix with a very substantially modified undertray is developed. I do have some ideas which involve opening up much of the center of the undertray and directing air to the turbo and wastegate like the current mods do.

Let's get a tray from Suncoast and hack away at it in the off season. Happy to be the guinea pig!

based solely on my experience this may not be a solution. i removed the tray completely and still had the issue. i think it may need the air being directed up but i'm no rocket surgeon.

For anyone getting the limp mode, are you getting any dash messages? I had the "transmission temp too high" message come on after about 6 laps at Sebring in the spring, but after half a lap at reduced power it went away as did limp mode.

PDK, right? Do manuals even have a temp sensor? Curious about that. Thanks.

Manuals do have a temp sensor. PDKs run hotter though.

Good to know; thanks. But there's no option on the dash screen to see manual transmission temp, right? Don't remember if my PDK 981 GTS had it, but I don't think it did either. But at least if either transmission gets too hot, we'd get a warning, which is good.

i got 3 messages every time it happened: PSM turned off, lane change assist turned off and adaptive (turning) headlights turned off. two i couldn't care less about but the first time it happened i drifted around turn 3 at daytona without trying. solution was always the same - windows up, car turned off and locked, wait 30 mins.

I get 0 dash warnings when my car used to go into Limp Mode. Simply limited PSI of the turbo to 5-6PSI.

Yes PDK. Just hoping I don't have a PDK issue.

Hope to see you back out there on track sometime soon!

No dash readout unfortunately. I read the manual transmission temp through the OBD-II port using the Launch X431.
