RUF SLANTNOSE SPY PICTURES
this car is just around the corner. it's in a side yard under a cloth cover. I talked to him for the first time this evening and he asked me more questions than I asked him. is it a 930 or a 911? (I almost busted a gut) he was asking me what it was! he saw it at a swap meet and paid $15,000 in green cash money just cause he liked it. it had a weard looking blue VIN plate on the door jam from california. I hope the pictures down loaded ok.

he said it was a little oriental man that imported it from germany years ago and never got it to pass smog so it never saw the street. he said it was a 1977, more likely he should have said an '87. I can't get the bigger pictures to download on my dial up.

he wanted to know what the extra door was for under the trunk (smuglers box). he said "I think it is a gas heater that runs on unleaded" he didn't like my "80 pounds of dead weight" answer...

he wanted to show me his dodge truck....thought I would get just as excited about it. he wants to trash the 17" RUF's in favor of pimpin' 19's. please some one save this car. 20 of us could each put in a grand and save it from this side yard life.

It's got Ruf wheels, but I'm guessing it isn't a Ruf......
The gas heater theory isn't a bad one, as the old 911's had a Webasco gas heater that went in there. He probably heard of these discussed at some point, and thought they all have them. I believe someone told me recently, you can still buy them from the factory as NOS.
Did it have a turbo engine?
