I know, I know, I was lucky to get what I got. Yes, from below it was very different than my normal 3.2. It had pipes everywhere. I'm gonna ask again to look at it. I remember that it didn't look to have an innercooler from the top view looking down into the tail.

now here is a sad steel slantnose I wold love to rescue. it has been sitting there in the same spot for years. the gate is always locked. it is surrounded by wrecks and parts cars. it looks like a chop shop or frankinporsche 101 shop.

Just in case none of you has seen this before. i am still searching for this car. I sold it in early 2000 to pay for my sons college. I've been searching high and low since he graduated on 2004.

smshirk, we have all been looking for that car since the mid 1980's.
the black one above just breaks my heart. I want to jump the fence and slap a blanket on it.
I've driven by it every week for years and it is going down hill.

that blue targa is damn sexy. I think I'm going to buy another beater that I find on the side of the road in a couple of years, and start working on that. I found one here in town but the guy wants way too much for it. Being that it is just a shell, no engine & trans, all the electronics are ripped out. Gauges missing etc....like perfect if I were to wire it myself kind of deal. But I'm not really into putting all sort of money on just a steel frame. the pic of the interior is before it was stripped. The first time that I saw it, it had the widest bad *** BBS wheels I've ever seen. It got stolen the night before I came to take pictures.

the rusty black slant is actually a 912! what? I talked to the guy today. I won't mention the name of the place but he had 911 stretch limo's, and every frankinporsche you ever dreamed of. must have been 25 911's, 356's.
he could not believe I was interested in slants. claimed to have once been the largest aftermarket supplier of steel slatnose to dealers on the planet. he still has all the jigs and showed me product in stock and work in progress. looks like he makes speedsters and cabs out of targas. I am going to do some googling and check him out. it would be funny to find out it's the same guy that sold my neighbor his slant!

douglas bray,
Such a waste. If I have a big garage, I would get it and slowly restore it... just to driveable condition.
Chuck,
May be a get together in Rancho with Douglas one day so he can tour us around those yards.
Nice red 930s you have. I saw it's a stock 930. Is it a stock slantnose or conversion? Do you have the oil cooler in the rear wheel fender?

I'd LOVE to go tour around those yards....my idea of a fun day...or two days...or.......
Yes, the car is a factory M505 option code slantnose. It has the oild cooler in the right rear wheel well.
I think this might show it if I can get the picture to load.... the early iteration came with just the oil cooler...the later ones had a thermostatically controllled fan on them.
Any time you'd like to try to get together....I'm up for it.
