Great story about a neglected 356...
I wish this story about a lady who lusted after her neighbor's neglected 356 had a Hollywood ending — but something tells me it's not quite over yet. Check it out here, it's a great read.

Great read and story. Brown looks always great on 356s.

you can bet your wife there's one of these somewhere between the Berkshires and Maine resting in a barn rotted nearly to dirt, so far gone you can pass your index finger clear through the body–by pressing on it with minimal effort....
Californian's are so fricken spoiled. someplace else (remaining to be discovered), the weirdo lady next door who's husband died from complications of agent orange has a perfectly preserved 356 under some burlap, a camping blanket, a tarp parchment and layers of petrified bird crap, w/ a pair of aging painting stands leaning on it, a tray of dried up peat moss spilled over on the hood, needing barely more than a good spray down with the garden hose and air gun to loosen the dried cobwebs and associated gook to bring her back to what she was 30 years ago.
bunch of ungrateful *****, and whiny pansies you all are.

"They" are out there. A few years ago, stopped a few blocks from my house when a 356 was loaded on a trailer. Talked to the buyer (a pro who knew what he was doing), he bought a "barn find" from my elderly neighbor for a frickin' song, stole the damn thing. I think he paid $3x thousand, car was probably worth $100K. Wish I knew about it, I would have bought it in heartbeat.

I just found a 63 coupe, painted 14 years ago and partially put back together. Not started or driven since.Has a C engine, originally a California, then Florida car. Needs to be brought back to life. Owner now 77 and wants to sell. I told him to pay to get it running or he will take a beating.
