Default Vintage license plate frame

Hi folks,

I am proud and happy to announce that I just got myself 59 T2 sunroof Super Coupe!!! A sound matching numbers driver… to be driven as much as possible here in Miami!

There is one thing tat I need help:

I found a vintage Florida plate from 1959 in good shape, but I would like to find a frame to use around it to get it straighter than it is right now… anyone has a spare one available for sale?

Bellow there is a picture of the car the way I found it! I am adding 4.5 wheels replacing the actual 5.5, an old and correct 40mm Derrington steering wheel, Marchal fog lights, new exhaust tips, and checking all mechanicals of the car.

As soon as I get it ready I will post some extra pictures!

Freddy

Hi JoAnne,

Do you know what I heard from my wife after purchasing this car?

- There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"...

I wish she was half as passionate about them as we are

Sometimes she thinks I am crazy! The good thing is that the kids love the Porsches we have - and they are giving me a hard time for tomorrow when the Turquoise 993 cab will be opening space in the garage for the 356!!

I was in a need of nice 356 and got inspired by your perfect coupe!!! One day I will make it as perfect as yours!!!

Cheers,

Freddy

You are too kind.... It's not perfect... yet......

It will never be perfect as in 100% originality, but we'll make it as perfect FOR US as we can.

Congratulations!!!!! Looks like a super nice car!

I don't think there is much doubt that most of us have crossed the line and are in mental illness territory!

Vasek Polak license plate frames have been going for crazy money on ebay - I think I saw one recently that may have passed a grand! If you are trying to straighten an old plate out, I am sure I have heard of some guy who restores (straighten, repaint correctly, etc.) plates - and if you search the archives on the Registry Talk List, you will probably find the guy's name.

Enjoy!!!

Hi Jim...unfortunately, according to Florida law, you can NOT restore your vintage original plate...you can use a "year correct" plate on your car as long as it is in original unrestored condition and visible enough for the law enforcement officers...then...Freddy has to live with his plate's time patina!

PS. You are right...Vasek Polak stuff (anything) is getting crazy bids on eBay!!!

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the compliment!!
The clock is fine and as perfect as a Swiss clock!!! That was a great and unique job!!! I guess you have people begging for one everyday!!!

Hi Jim,

I am going today to the Miami DMV and will comment on the original license plate latter! I hope I get it done today!

Pedro is correct on the possible restoration…. A forbidden act here in Florida!! I wish I could get a frame from Vasek Polak!!!! One day…

Cheers,

Freddy

Hi Harry...Vasek Polak would be super "period correct" actually...in 1959 he opened the US first Porsche only dealership...in Manhattan Beach-CA...

Hey Freddy...I know you will get one sooner or later!!!!
