I have been lurking on this forum as I am thinkg about adding a 356 to my garage. I just saw this posted on stinkbay and it has to be a scam:

Looks VERY fishy to me. The seller states he's in New York, and all the pictures are taken in some desert location? $6,000.00 for a fully resotred 356? Don't click on ask seller a question because My Ebay mail box is so full I so I won't answer? How can your Ebay mail box be full if this is your first listing? Oh brother.

Scammer for sure. I bet it's only a couple of hours before this gets pulled................

Can you believe that it is now bid to $6,100.00?? I thought buy it now price was $6,000.00? OH WAIT. That was his buy it now, not an Ebay buy it now.

Who is this guy?? Look at the bid retractions!!!!!! I wonder why Ebay isn't looking into this?? Why would you turn down a 14,000.00 bid on a Buy it now for 6,000.00 car? Hmmmmm................. So much for trusting Ebay

This is a phishing scam to grab Ebay ID's. Zero feedback, registered 8/7, there's one born every minute I guess......

I guess I should have said that it looks very very Phishy to me in my first post.

My question is, why is Ebay letting this "auction" continue when it sems like such a blatent scam? I'm almost positive that some 356'ers out there must have already notified Ebay about their suspisions.............

I emailed ebay yesterday telling them its a scam - guess they finally got to it today.

great, now, if we can only get them to segregate real 356s from kits, clones & replicars (not that there is anything wrong w/ them...).
