We’ve been tracking the second-generation Porsche Panamera for a while now, and we’ve been rather patient about it. But it looks like we won’t have to wait all that much longer to get a solid look at the 2017 model, as Porsche is set to debut the car on June 28.

To prime us for the unveiling, Porsche released the sketch above, along with the official announcement. Of course, we should have expected some “courageous” news, what with the release of the teaser video below this week. And the marque also teased us with this far-from-revealing photo of the new car’s rear end…

So we know it looks great from behind in the dark. We also know that the 2017 Panamera will feature launch control, rear-wheel steering, a sports exhaust system, and be built on the new MSB modular platform. It will also sport a smaller V-8 than the outgoing model, while offering more power and better efficiency. And a hybrid will be available again as well.

The new Panamera isn’t expected to make its formal auto show debut until the Paris show in September. So while we’re excited to get a full look at the car a lot sooner than that, it doesn’t change the fact that the 2017 Panamera won’t officially go on sale until the first half of next year. So the real wait continues.
