Rennlister Gives First Impressions on Porsche 991.2 GT3

Sure, you’ve seen the 991.2 GT3 already. But have you seen it through the eyes of a master detailer?

Porsche’s latest and greatest road-going machine, the 991.2 GT3, is just hitting dealerships (and our garages). Packing incredible specs like 500 hp, a 9,000 rpm redline, 200 mph top speed, and a 3.4-second 0-60 time, it’s essentially a race car for the street. Put simply, the 991.2 GT3, like its predecessor, is easily one of the world’s finest driver’s cars. Which, coincidentally, is why everyone wants one.

Rennlister and owner of Atlanta, Georgia based Detailed Designs, Jean-Claude recently got his hands on a very dirty 991.2 GT3. So he of course shot this handy little video with his first impressions. The shop is no stranger to perfecting the paint and details on Porsches, but this marks the first time a new GT3 has passed through their finicky hands.

As is the case with most dealer delivered cars, this 991.2 GT3 can obviously benefit from a little paint correction and protection. But the fascinating thing, as always, is seeing these cars through the discerning eyes of Jean-Claude. He’s simply got a knack for spotting issues most of us would never see. Unless they’re pointed out to us, of course.

That includes things like buff marks in addition to simple dirt. The GT3’s combination of hard lines and soft lines up front look fantastic. But as Jean-Claude points out, also promise to present a challenge wrapping the bumper. It’s also interesting to see the little details that frustrate Jean-Claude, like the headlight washers and unpainted bottom sections of the side mirrors.

Still, it’s rather fascinating to watch someone with such attention to detail noting little design details we didn’t even notice at first. That’s what happens when you spend your days pouring over Porsche after Porsche, we suppose. And if anything is worth spending a little extra time looking at, it’s the 991.2 GT3!
