And a few other surprises that 911 enthusiasts will appreciate.

Porsche is one of the few automakers with a rich racing history that spans various motorsports. The automaker has decided to give fans a behind-the-scenes look into what makes its sports car, especially the 911, so special. The company’s first video is from the latest edition of its 9:11 Magazine and covers an interview with Walter Röhrl, profiles the automaker’s most flamboyant paint jobs, and provides a look into Porsche’s front-engined, water-cooled sports cars.

The second installment of 9:11 Magazine’s online series has 911s getting dirty, an engine breakdown, a glimpse into Fredinand Porsche’s first order books, and a glance into the automaker’s museum.

The video starts with Dr. Erik Brandenburg, who is no stranger to rallying 911s, flinging a rally-prepped sports car around a make-shift dirt track. There’s also a bit of footage of Brandenburg driving the 911 in some of the most grueling stages, including the iconic Camel Trophy.

While that would be more than enough for any enthusiast to drool over, the second part of the clip shows the complete, part-by-part breakdown of an older Carrera flat-six engine. Every single piece of the motor is taken apart, providing not only an inside look into the glorious unit, but also a perfect guide for those brave enough to take on the same challenge.

The third and fourth parts of the video cover Porsche’s records, which include a peek into the automaker’s film footage, photos, and even Ferdinand Porsche’s sketchbooks. The video ends in the best way possible – a time-lapse of the Porsche Museum’s infamous warehouse that turns into a kaleidoscope of everything Porsche.

The video may be nine minutes long, but when you’re getting a look into Porsche’s history, time flies.
