Quicker Than a Urus?

The super Cayenne will use several Lightweight Sport package bits. Including a contoured carbonfibre roof panel as standard equipment to keep kerb weight below the standard car’s 4,840 lb. While it admits that top speed is limited to 186 mph, Porsche has not made any performance claims. Bar to suggest that it will get to 60 mph quicker than the both the Audi RS Q8’s 3.8 seconds and the 3.6 second Lamborghini Urus…

A sophisticated, carbonfibre-rich active aero package will bring greater downforce and improved engine bay and brake cooling. It comprises a chunkier front bumper with larger grilles than the rest of the Cayennes. An enhanced rear wing still deploys at speed and a new rear diffuser frames a pair of large central exhaust tips.

The Cayenne Ãœber Turbo will ride on 22-inch forged aluminum wheels. Its 285/35 ZR22 front and 315/30 ZR22 rear tires will be the largest ever on a standard Cayenne. That combination brings a greater offset to marginally increase front and rear track widths and allow for an increase in front axle negative camber.

Special Suspension, Too

Add lowered adaptive air suspension, firmer damping and tuned electro-hydraulic active roll stabilization. And Porsche’s Power Steering Plus rear-wheel steering system and the standard car’s optional ceramic-composite brake discs and calipers as standard.

All in all, it seems Porsche has pulled a Cinderella on its inhouse VW Group super SUV rivals. Whether they simply accept that the glass slipper remains in Stuttgart is however another matter. But for now, this Uber Cayenne Turbo may just snatch that King of SUVs crown…
