Just reading from a press in Taiwan that 992.2 Carrera S will no longer in production. Because the performance gap and price difference between C2S and GTS are too close to each other. Just like the 992.1 when GTS started in production, the C2S demand became so low. Well, not really sure if this information is true, what do you guys think.....?

Not sure of the point of the S any more. I read an article yesterday that it will be very difficult to tune the Hybrid. And the base - with the bigger turbos - should be a very nice platform for tuners.

Base may be the go to for those that prefer to tune. If you have deeper pockets and don't mind the risk they may try to tune the hybrid. Someone out there will want to try just because.
It was an event by Porsche that took place in Ascari circuit, Spain. Test drive for car media and press that came from many countries. And one of the car media wrote the article after finishing the event when came back to Taiwan.
If GTS demand is strong enough there's no need for an S , if it's not that strong then they will make the S. The ADM situation past couple years was an eye opener for Porsche I think
3 ways Porsche will go:
*make the S with an internal combustion engine and more power- with or without a manual
*make the S with a detuned GTS engine
* eliminate the S
Our local C2S waitlist is 2-3 years in length. A GTS and any Targa model is the same. The S model has been around for 58 years. Porsche is not about to kill off the S variant when it has typically out sold the base Carrera 9 to 1 per a recent Spike’s Car Radio episode.
In 1966, Porsche introduced the more powerful 911S with Type 901/02 engine having a power output of 160 PS (118 kW; 158 hp). Forged aluminium alloy wheelsfrom Fuchsfelge, with a 5-spoke design, were offered for the first time. In motorsport at the same time, the engine was developed into the Type 901/20 and was installed in the mid-engine904 and 906 with an increased power output of 210 PS (154 kW; 207 hp), as well as fuel injected Type 901/21 installed in later variants of the 906 and 910 with a power output of 220 PS (162 kW; 217 hp).
There have been reports that Porsche isn’t going to bother homologation the S in some markets, but it’s most certainly coming to the United States.
And yes, it will be hybrid and PDK only.
Change is inevitable I guess. Everyone prolly felt the same way after the air cooled cars went away...I would think that the 991.1 "S" cars would be more valuable now
