1. The 992 GT3

GT3 biggest moment

After a lot of speculation and spy shots the newest GT3 finally makes its way into customer hands. It is as impressive as we all thought. If you drove the 991.2 GT3 you knew it would be nearly impossible for Porsche to top it. But lo and behold they did it. The 992 GT3 is the quickest one ever produced. If it wasn’t for the 5-figure dealer markups and years-long waiting lists there would be nothing negative to say about this spectacular 911.

2. GTS Models Revealed

992 GTS

As wonderful as the GT3 is, it can be a bit much for some people. Not everyone wants to drive a highly strung track car every day. But those same people value performance and want something a little more than the standard Carrera S. That is where the sweet spot GTS models fit in. They are the just right choice above the standard models but not as extreme as the Turbo and GT cars. Packing 473 horsepower and most of the choice performance options as standard the GTS model is always a big news story. 2021 was no different.

3. GT2 RS Lap Record

Biggest moments

6:43.300. That is how long it took the 911 GT2 RS to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife on June 14 of this year. This set a new lap record for road-approved production cars. The GT2 RS that set the record was fitted with the Manthey Performance Kit. The kit is available from Porsche Tequipment and consists of chassis, aerodynamic and brake components specially developed for the 911 GT2 RS. The GT2 RS is a couple years old but it was still setting records in 2021.

911 Prediction

911 Safari. The trend of building 911 Safari specials has continued to spike in 2021. And now there are rumors that Porsche themselves may actually build a 992 Safari. So far, we just have spy shots and rumors. Our prediction/hope is that in 2022 we get some solid details from Porsche. You might want to call your dealer now and put down a deposit. Because if Porsche does build this thing, it will sell like hotcakes.
