Carbon Fiber Insanity: 992 Stinger GTR Carbon Edition Is Out of This World

Stinger GTR Carbon Edition

Only 13 992 Stinger GTR Carbon Edition cars will ever be made. This is lucky No. 7, and it is the most stunning yet.

If you are lucky enough to own a Porsche 992 Turbo S, then you already own one of the best sports cars in the world. The balance of speed, handling, comfort, and practicality is virtually unmatched in the automotive world. However, if there is any complaint about the new Turbo S it is that it is not exotic enough.

Parked next to a Ferrari and a McLaren, the 911 will fade into the background. If you want the most curb appeal out of your 911, even in Turbo S form might disappoint you. Well, the folks at TopCar have a solution for you. It is called the 992 Stinger GTR Carbon Edition, and it is guaranteed to get as many eyeballs on it as any other exotic.

A few months ago, we covered the very first 992 Stinger GTR Carbon Edition. With all of the exposed carbon fiber work it looked like one of the sexiest Porsche Turbo cars ever made. But TopCar really upped their game for this one. Car number 7 is highlighted in this video posted on the RoCars YouTube channel.

Looks are subjective but to our eyes this car makes the first one look almost ordinary. If you go to the TopCar website, they list this car as: Porsche 992 Stinger GTR Carbon Edition brown.

Brown?!?!

That is selling this car way short. We would call it the Copperhead Edition.

Look at the carbon fiber on this car, especially the underside of the hood and engine cover. It looks like the skin of a Copperhead snake. It is beautifully done. That is to say, brown does not begin to describe it.

As a reminder the package consists of 84 parts made of four layers of carbon fiber. But it is the color of this version that makes it so unique. This car will certainly not get lost in the crowd at any car show.

The exterior of the car is finished in a chocolate brownish, cooper exposed carbon fiber. It is so glossy that it appears wet. That look is carried over to the wheels and even the brake calipers. As a result, the car is striking from any angle you choose to view it from.

Carbon Edition

On the inside the same color scheme and carbon fiber is used. The only notable departure is what appears to be Guards Red around the tachometer and sport chrono clock.

There is nothing wrong with that, but it would have been cool to see that replaced with the colors used on the rest of the car. All leather work is custom including the upholstery on the seats.

The seat backs have matching carbon fiber. The door sills show that this is car number 7 out of the 13 that planned to be built. So, if you plan on getting one, you better act fast.

Interior

If there is one other minor nitpick against the standard 992 Turbo S it is that it does not have the most intoxicating exhaust note. Well, this Stinger GTR Carbon Edition addresses that as well.

It is equipped with a Kline Innovation exhaust. The high-quality Kline exhaust offers a bit more power and reduces weight. But the main advantage is that it gives the car proper supercar sound.

So, this car now has all the attention getting looks and exotic sound to go along with the stellar performance and practicality. Is the Stinger GTR Carbon Edition the perfect supercar? It just might be. Checkout the video below for six minutes of carbon fiber car porn and decide for yourself.
