Porsche 991.2 GT3 R MK2 Makes Delicious Sounds at Monza

By -

If you’ve got six minutes to spare, you won’t find a better way to use them than watching this 991.2 GT3 R scream around a circuit.

With a brand new Porsche 911 GT3 RS hitting the streets, it was only  matter of time before we laid eyes (and ears!) upon the new 991.2 GT3 R MK2. And now we have our first look at this track-dominating monster, courtesy of YouTuber NM2255 Car HD Videos. He, along with a number of other lucky folks, were recently invited to a private Porsche test day at the infamous Monza circuit. And it’s there that the mighty 991.2 GT3 R sang them the song of its people.

The GT3-class 911 looks absolutely sinister as well, of course. Sporting redesigned aero bits including revised bumpers, a new wing, and a new diffuser, it looks ready to eat the competition for lunch. Literally. But as good as this thing looks, it sounds even better. There’s just no topping a wide-open, naturally-aspirated flat-six in our book. And this new 4.0-liter really gets the job done in that department.

From the moment the new 991.2 GT3 R slingshots out of the pits, we were completely addicted to those noises. This thing absolutely screams around the track, reverberating off the walls like some sort of scorn demon. Until the driver comes up on a tight corner and fires off a few equally delicious-sounding downshifts.

Yes, this is basically just a little over six minutes of pure aural pleasure. But what better way to spend six minutes of your life than enjoying these amazing sounds? Now we just have to (eagerly) await the 991.2 GT3 R’s impending debut in an actual race series. Then, we get to listen to these amazing noises for hours instead of mere minutes!
