Porsche 914 Comes Alive with 2.5-Liter Twin-Plug Swap

Porsche 914

The engine actually spent its first several years in Marco’s 911. He racked up 60,000 miles on it, both on the track and the highway. He didn’t even bother rebuilding the engine before he stabbed it in the 914, but it’s still going strong. Marco further fortified the pint sized Porsche 914 with a late model Carrera front suspension and GT-style rear brakes with vented rotors.

But the real question is, what’s it like to drive? Farah immediately falls in love with the noises coming from the little twin-plug motor, calling it “something very special.” He notes that the chassis “feels nice and sorted.” Overall? “This things awesome!” We weren’t even driving the car, but we have to agree. The sounds coming out of this little Porsche 914 are truly addictive, and we imagine it’s a blast to toss around canyon roads. Maybe it’s time to give the 914 its due, after all!
