Whether it’s grand touring or setting blistering zero to 60 mph times, the 911 Turbo S is a car that’s tough to beat, says Forbes.

Porsche is known for making some of the best sports cars on the road that can also serve as track-ready machines. The 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S is an example of what happens when Porsche combines its racing heritage and its knowledge of making everyday sports cars into a complete package. Forbes got behind the wheel of a 911 Turbo S and found it to be the ultimate daily driver.

Previous 911 Turbo S models lived up to the supercar side of the equation, but they weren’t capable of fulfilling on the luxury side of things, claims Forbes. But that’s not a problem the new 911 Turbo S has. “But the 2017 911 Turbo S nails both roles, and even throws in all-weather confidence and capability, just for good measure,” says Forbes. “In the spirit of Grand Touring the 911 Turbo S is tough to beat.”

On the performance side, the 911 Turbo S features a host of new goodies. “For its performance pedigree the latest Turbo S benefits from a more powerful engine, revised PDK and traction management functions…” and much more, says Forbes. A Sport Chrono Package, which is now standard, and a “Sport Response” mode is also new. There’s a whole bunch of changes for the new Turbo S. And, as Forbes claims, they make the sports car even better. “As is common with Porsche, these changes take an already exceptional model and fine tune it for increased enjoyment and capability.”

And when it comes to enjoyment, the 911 Turbo S has an impressive motor. “Topping our list of Turbo S enjoyment is the 3.8-liter flat six’s horsepower bump, pushing the standard 911 Turbo to 540 hp and our Turbo S test car to 580 hp and 553 pound-feet of torque,” says Forbes. With those figures, the Turbo S is capable of putting down some incredible numbers. “This power bump drops the Turbo S’ zero-to-60 time to 2.8 seconds,” says the outlet.

In addition to being quicker than ever, the new Turbo S is also faster. “More power also lets the latest 911 Turbo S hit 205 mph,” states Forbes. “Yup, the Turbo S is more powerful, quicker, faster and more fuel efficient.” In other words, the sports car is better than ever.

The greatest feature of the new Turbo S, though, is its ability to hide its true potential. “We drove our Miami Blue test car in indulgent bliss 90-plus percent of the time and didn’t even think about our option to obliterate decreasing-radius turns or slow-moving traffic, at literally, the touch of a button,” according to Forbes.

“But that other 10 percent of the time, when we did exercise the Turbo S’ performance pedigree, is when it cemented itself as the ultimate daily driver,” says the outlet. Driving the 911 Turbo S is something that needs to be experienced, as Forbes claims the car “will transport you to a new dimension of steering and throttle response.” The flat-six’s iconic engine note also helps with the car’s sporty nature as it’s “an addictive reminder to what this engine can do when unleashed,” says the outlet.

At roughly $190,000, the 911 Turbo S isn’t exactly cheap. But, as Forbes reports, at that price, there’s nothing else an enthusiast could ask for from a daily driver. “For the ultimate daily driver, it’s still a bargain.”
