Pair of Porsches Stand Out in ‘Car Kings’ Incredible Collection

TV star and Galpin Auto Sports president Beau Boeckmann’s diverse car collection has it all–and a few perfect Porsches. 

Beau Boeckmann is a pretty lucky guy. After starring in Pimp My Ride many years ago, the eclectic car fanatic now gets a front-and-center spot in the new Discovery series Car Kings. And you might say that while the show follows the exploits at mega car customizer Galpin Auto Sports, Boeckmann is the real Car King here. Because he owns one of the coolest private car collections we’ve ever laid eyes on. Which includes, as all good collections do, a couple of Porsches. Thanks to the Petersen Automotive Museum, we get to scope them out in this awesome video.

Car Kings revolves around Galpin’s endless drive to find cool old cars and restore them, unveiling the interesting history of each during this process. Since Boeckmann is President and COO of GAS, he’s obviously a big part of the show. But the man himself is a huge car fan who’s amassed an amazing and diverse collection of vehicles that includes a bunch of historically significant artifacts. And the collection includes a few important rides from Galpin’s history.

That means wild drag and exhibition cars, as well as new exotics and classic American muscle. And of course, a few rides from famous customizers of the past. But tucked in between all of this goodness lies a pair of Porsches that are every bit as cool. The first of which is also perhaps the most controversial among the brand’s purists.

“Another car that was featured on Car Kings, this is our RWB Porsche,” Boeckmann says. “I think, personally, this is one of the funnest cars that we have.”

Aside from that (and the air-cooled 911 Carrera sitting next to it), Porsches are just beginning to play a big role at Galpin.

“We just recently took on Porsche as a franchise: Porsche of Santa Clarita,” he says. “And we really want to make sure we have some fun cars there as well, so this is our RWB.”

These are the only two Porsches we spotted in Boeckmann’s collection. But it’s clear that he’s on the brink of falling in love with the brand. And who can blame him?
