Cayman GT4 RS only had 471 miles on the odometer when it met its maker. Now, it’s getting a second chance thanks to these brave souls.

We all dream of buying a really expensive car for a really low price. Often, when that opportunity arises, it’s for a good reason. There’s no shortage of folks braving totaled auction cars and bringing them back to life. This Cayman GT4 RS, however, takes things to a whole new level.

Carscoops brought this ridiculous story to our attention and it is far too good not to share. This beautiful Weissach package-equipped example was originally sold to a buyer in Slovenia. However, just a month after its delivery, a massive flood brought it to an end. It was stored in an underground parking garage, where it was completely submerged in mud and water. It sat in that slop for three whole days and, while most would consider it a write-off, Marleen Riemen and Ricardo Sciascia of RS Dynamics had other plans.

A Special Kind of Crazy

Sciascia thought this project to be worth saving considering it’s not only a GT4 RS, but because it’s a Weissach car and only has 471 miles on it. However, his wife didn’t exactly see eye to eye on that thought process, initially.

“When my husband Ricardo first became aware of the Porsche GT4RS Weissach on the Internet and told me about it, I didn’t want to know anything about it at first. A few days later he didn’t let up, I took a closer look at the pictures of the Porsche on the Internet and was shocked. After all, this is a flood victim, there’s probably not much left to save,” Riemen told Carscoops.

After cleaning up the outside of the car, things didn’t look so bad. That is until you open the doors. Inside was an absolute disaster courtesy of dry mud coating virtually every square inch of the interior. Sciascia and Riemen wasted no time getting to work on what they dubbed “Project Seacret,” proceeding to scoop entire buckets of mud out of the inside of this poor little Porsche. A Noble Cause and a Nightmare in the Making

Without a doubt, this project is not going to be an intuitive one. According to Carscoops, the car didn’t have any sort of flicker of lights on the dash giving any signs of life. That being said, we cannot commend this Porsche-loving power couple enough. Taking on a project like this requires an almost unfathomable amount of dedication to the point that most folks wouldn’t even begin to consider it if they’d spent any meaningful time working on cars.

That said, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this amazing restoration. It’s amazing how far they’ve already come and we’re looking forward to seeing this GT4 RS roar back to life once again.
