Lego Porsche Shows Why Cars Aren’t Made Out of Plastic Bricks

Toy-car crash is so mesmerizing you’ll want to watch it over and over.

There’s nothing more cringe worthy than watching any Porsche crash. But when it’s made out of tiny plastic bricks, we suppose the loss isn’t quite as devastating. And this Lego Porsche crash is so mesmerizing you can’t help but be fascinated by the results. Plus, we’ve always kinda wondered how the seemingly indestructible toy would hold up under such force.

If you’ve ever stepped on a Lego, you probably thought that they were basically unbreakable. But in spite of all the pain the tiny toy inflicts, they don’t seem to hold up too well in an actual crash simulation. German automobile club ADAC was kind enough to demonstrate, using the super awesome Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS. All 2,704 pieces of it.

It undoubtedly took hours to put the car together, but only a fraction of a second to make it explode. With plenty of dramatic music and slow motion camera effects, the poor Porsche is hurdled toward a wall at high speed. And just like that, all their hard work is for naught. Or is it?

As all those thousands of pieces come apart much easier than they went together, it’s clear that we won’t be driving cars made of Legos any time soon. But in all fairness, those individual pieces remain pretty much intact. The use of some adhesive would probably help keep them together. But the results of that crash wouldn’t be nearly as dramatic.
