Given how popular Legos are, there’s a good chance you know both children and adults who would be excited to unwrap this set. Whoever winds up getting it will be able to stage their very own head-to-head Porsche race between a bright green 911 Turbo 3.0 and a black, white, and red 911 RSR. Each car features its own driver minifigure with helmet and racing suit. They can also keep track of the race with the adjustable lap counter (up to four laps) and race-position board. When the race is over, they can make the third minifigure wave the checkered flag. If there happens to be a crash, it won’t be a problem. A few minutes of snapping bricks together and these cars will be as good as new.

Petrolicious is more than just breathtaking videos about vintage cars and their owners. It also has a shop stocked with stuff for automotive enthusiasts, including this trio of coffees made in collaboration with Porsche and Drive Coffee. Each 12-ounce canister focuses on a significant car from Porsche’s history. The 959 inspired the Frankfurt, a light/medium roast from Ethiopia with notes of citrus, tropical fruits, and sweet tea. Salzburg is an homage to the 917. It’s a medium roast from Colombia with hints of yellow apple and milk chocolate. The medium-roast beans in the Stuttgart blend come from Rwanda, but they’re a tribute to a quintessentially German car, the 911, and taste like molasses, baking spices, and vanilla.

The beauty of being a car enthusiast is that you can enjoy an automobile even when it’s not moving. Of course, driving is the best part of being a motor head, but when that’s not an option, just admiring the lines and curves of a high-performance machine is a satisfying alternative. This 1:18-scale recreation of the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7 is just the right size to fit on a shelf and just the right car to gaze at during a long study session or boring conference call.

School as a gift? Technically, yes. Porsche Track Experiences are educational, but they involve driving cars such as the 911 GT3 RS, Panamera Turbo, and 911 Turbo S at high speeds. Courses range in length from one to four days. Participants in the entry-level Precision class get to drive on a skidpad, autocross course, and track. The Performance course includes instruction on how to heel/toe downshift, drive the Cayenne off-road, and use the 911 Turbo S’s launch control system, as well as plenty of track sessions. In the Masters course, drivers learn to polish their lines and turns even more on the skid pad and autocross course, and by practicing cornering drills. According to Porsche, in the Masters R clinic, “Students will further refine their ability to understand vehicle dynamics, like how to correct oversteer and learn to control a perfect drift. Extensive practice is received in how to combine steering and throttle control to create and maintain drifts, and how to induce and control trail brake rotation for increased confidence on the track.” Graduates of the Masters RS course will learn racing strategy, including how to pass, qualify, and start a race, and be eligible for their SCCA License. They’ll also be able to take the Masters RSR class. Completing that qualifies graduates for their SCCA Regional License.
Porsche Track Experience Courses – $1,800 – $9,600
Porsche racing legend Hurley Haywood didn’t just sign this racing suit. He wore it. The listing for it states that he sported it during the “2009 Grand-Am season & Daytona.” As the area between the two Brumos Racing logos indicates, he autographed it in October of 2017. Haywood also used a piece of his own personal stationery to create a sort of certificate of authenticity verifying he wore and signed the suit.

This watch ticks a lot of boxes. It’s a Swiss watch inspired by a piece worn by Steve McQueen in a movie about Le Mans racing. The 39-mm square case surrounds a matte blue dial with subdials for the seconds and minutes, and is topped with a sapphire crystal. The Swiss-made automatic movement has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours, but the Monaco as a whole has an appeal that’s timeless – just like The King of Cool.
