Legendary German tuner cranks Porsche’s finest up a notch with 828 hp 991 Turbo concept.

For decades, German-based Gemballa has produced some of the most amazing tuned Porsches on the planet. But how do you follow up cars like the Avalanche and the Mirage GT? Well, how about a widebody 991 Turbo pumping out an incredible 828 hp and 702 lb-ft of torque? Those numbers alone are enough to get our attention, and yet the Gemballa GT Concept is much more than just prodigious power.

But hey, horsepower sells. And the Gemballa GT uses a completely reworked 3.8-liter flat six to pump out those impressive numbers. According to the manufacturer, it’s good enough for a 2.38-second 0-62 run and 223 mph top speed. That’s, uh, fast. Like a full second quicker than the “normal” Turbo. Gemballa wanted to make sure you can slow down from those speeds as well, so they fitted the GT with massive carbon-ceramic brakes.

And of course, you’ll look good on those high speed runs, too. A host of lightweight carbon body bits are said to aid aerodynamics, yet they look pretty awesome as well. Of particular interest are the new fenders, which are 30mm wider up front and 50mm wider in the rear. They make room for forged 21-inch GRS-F1 wheels wrapped in tires measuring 255/30ZR21 up front and 325/25ZR21 in the rear.

The Gemballa GT might be labeled a “concept,” but interested customers can in fact buy one. All you need is a donor 991 Turbo and some cash. Exterior bodywork runs right around $30k, the wheels and tires just over $8k, and engine upgrades total around $58,000. So for just under a hundred grand (plus the cost of a new Turbo), you can be driving an extra special Porsche. And blowing away just about everything else currently on the road.
