Felicity Ace Disaster Causes Headaches for Some Porsche Replacements
3. Nobbyv
Rennlist member Nobbyv ordered a Gentian Blue Metallic Macan S back in November that ended up on the Felicity Ace. Like others in this situation, he hadn’t been in direct contact with VW Group, but was assured a replacement.
Ironically, he also ordered another vehicle (presumably before the Macan S) that dodged the bullet.
“I also ordered a Cayman GT4, and was fortunate that though it was at the port in Emden at the time, it missed getting loaded on this ship,” said Nobbyv.

Despite the setback, he remains positive about the dilemma. “I consider these freak accidents, and not something that reflects poorly on VAG (or even the shipping company).”
We’ll assume he’s just a little more positive because fate chose to spare his GT4.
4. MiamiNYer
MiamiNYer ordered a base trim gulf paint-to-sample Blue Panamera back in July 2021, loaded up with leather seats, turbo wheels, every safety feature available, puddle lights, etc.
Like others on the list, she found out about the fire by the clicking on the thread.
“I reached out to my dealership as soon as I heard about the FA (on Rennlist) and the manager called me back to tell me they would let me know as soon as they had more information. I was also in touch with Porsche NA who have always been very helpful,” MiamiNYer said.
After checking regularly, she received a commission number and a May build date, but wasn’t sure if she could make changes due to the color being a sample.
“I am happy with my original build, but would have liked to perhaps take advantage of the platinum trim or possibly upgrade to a 4S given how loaded my car already is,” MiamiNYer said. “I am most concerned though that something may be missing due to shortages.”
She isn’t a big fan of having to wait so late, but she is grateful, considering other models are delayed even further. “Some people are getting ’22 replacement vehicles after the ‘23s come out.”
5. Milban
Milban traded in his 2015 GT3 and ordered a murdered-out 2022 911 GT3 Touring last summer, complete with Porsche composite brakes, bigger tank and a PDK transmission.
Expecting his car to come in on the Felicity Ace, he’s been rather incensed at the debacle thus far. “They’ve ‘let’ me order another one, estimated time of arrival September 16. Extremely disappointed, seems like I became last on the replacement list,” Milban said.
“I’ve also ordered a GT4RS, eta December 22. Not confident of anything, so I bought a C8 Corvette and I’m loving it!”
6. Cyrek
Rennlist member Cyrek ordered his winged Metallic White Porsche 911 GT3 last October with a PDK, full carbon options, race buckets, Bose, some graphics a lift and one or two other smaller options.
“My communication has been through my (sales associate) and Track Your Dream showing October 28th and a 2022 model which, if I miss the summer, I think it should be a ’23 model,” said Cyrek.
While it appears hit or miss when it comes to people’s experience, it at least appears some replacement orders are going through. Regardless, these are only a hand full of people out of many (including those who were simply transporting their personal vehicles back stateside).
“If Porsche takes care of us and they did on my 2014 GT3 engine car, then yes I will continue to purchase cars from them,” said Cyrek. “But I can only hope they are shipped separate of electric models if that is indeed what crushed my summer dreams!”
