Daily Driven 964 Turbo Goes from Ashy to Classy

Just because you actually drive your Porsche doesn’t mean it shouldn’t always look its best while doing so.

The world, as they say, is a cruel and unforgiving place. After all, the simple act of driving or even storing a Porsche is bound to get it dirty and damaged. Whether it happens by the hands of a rock chip, harsh weather, salt air, or dust. So when one particular gentleman got tired of looking at the crust that had formed on his daily driven 964 Turbo, he sought out professional help.

Now, when say “daily driven,” we’re talking about a two-mile round trip. Regardless, the recently acquired, low mile ride had clearly seen better days. So he reached out to Atlanta, Georgia based magic workers (and resident Rennlisters) Detailed Designs. Because this car was going to be driven regularly, he didn’t necessarily want it to be perfect. Just not crusty, for sure. And easier to clean up.

Now, the majority of Detailed Design’s work revolves around new car protection services. But they obviously jumped at the chance to clean up this iconic Porsche. DD performed a paint restoration and restorative detailing on the 964 Turbo, and the results are pretty incredible. Better still, the car was delivered back to the client at a Caffeine and Exotics event, where the 911 sat in a featured spot.

In addition to the paint revival, the rubber seals and trim also received a full restoration. And the interior is no different. The leather was conditioned and carpets steam cleaned. The hard plastic surfaces were stripped of any nasty residue and conditioned. And it’s safe to say that the owner was pleased with the outcome.

It’s not only refreshing to see an older Porsche brought back to life, it’s impressive that it can be done without a full on restoration. The only problem? This Turbo turned out nice enough that we imagine the owner is rethinking its use as a daily.
