Cayenne Transsyberia Tribute Is Ready For Off-road Adventure

Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia tribute does far more than look the part; it lives the offroad dream. You can, too, if you win its auction!

The Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia is a limited edition version of their now-iconic SUV. The bright orange wheels and accents combined with the lights atop the roof are from the factory, believe it or not. Porsche built these cars this way from the factory to compete in the Transsyberia rally. Much more than a normal rally, the Transsyberia Rally features extremely long stages with everything from high-speed cornering to water features up to the window glass. Porsche won the 2007 Transsyberia Rally with one of these Cayennes.

However, they came back for the 2008 Transsyberia Rally and took the top six positions to top it off. Also, in 2008, nine of the top 10 finishers were Cayennes. To celebrate these victories, Porsche released a special edition Cayenne Transsyberia in 2009. This, however, is not one of them. Instead, this is a tribute, which means you don’t have to worry about how rare it is. You are free to take it through deep river passes and over sweet jumps without any need to feel guilt.

This Cayenne Transsyberia tribute is currently for sale on Cars and Bids. At the time of writing, the bid is $8,500, which seems remarkably fair for what you get. The orange accenting may be a bit over the top for some, but it certainly suits how over the top the rest of the vehicle is. Let’s take a look at what your money would get you if you were to win this auction.

2005 Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia Rally Tribute Car

Ready to rip anywhere

Obviously, this is a bit of a departure from your standard high-performance Porsche. Therefore, handling is not likely to be up there on this car’s list of positive traits. However, everything else is certainly up there, given its 2.5-inch suspension lift kit. Complimenting its raise in ride height is a set of Kenda offroad tires that give you the impression this Cayenne will not stop for anyone or anything.

If you blow a tire, there’s no need to worry as it has a matching spare wheel and tire mounted to the rear. This Cayenne has a set of Eurowise skid plates and aluminum rock sliders to keep from damaging the underside. Fear no trail; this thing is ready. If you feel like adventuring out in the night, too, the roof-mounted LED lights will provide all the visibility you could ever want.

Inside, you’ll find the standard Porsche heated leather interior. However, matching orange accents and an Alpine touchscreen stereo system have been added. Frankly, we can’t imagine a more comfortable off-road ride.

Under the hood lies an unmodified 3.2-liter V6 mated to the standard six-speed automatic transmission. According to the listing, this vehicle was in two minor accidents—one in 2015 and 2016. Furthermore, the ad goes on to describe minor scratches and dents, though, with an off-road oriented vehicle, you’d think that’s implied. The interior has some scuffs and cracking in the upholstery, but this isn’t meant to be a show-quality car.

Regardless of who ends up with this Cayenne, it’s always amazing to see something like this. Breaking out of the norm of grocery-getting Cayennes is something we love. Furthermore, Porsche’s amazing all-wheel-drive system seeing some proper exploitation is always fun, too. Well done to the creator of this exquisite Porsche, and a preemptive congratulations to the winner of the auction!
