Arctic Silver 1997 Porsche 993C4S is a rare SoCal find that will make any driver feel like royalty — for a cool $115,000.

The 993 was the start of a new era for Porsche. Replacing the 964 model, Porsche refers to the 993 as “a significant advance, not just from a technical, but also a visual perspective.” Manufactured from 1993 to late 1998, the 993 was built during a period of company transition so it is interesting that a vehicle that was considered to be a stop gap between the 964 and future models, would be so highly regarded.

Air cooled with a hand built engine, the 993 offered the driver excellent performance with its increased horsepower of 272 and higher as the model years went on. Although the body style did not differ much from the 964 model, the 993 had a curvier, more elegant look that turned heads while on the road.

The last of the air cooled, hand-built engine models, the 993 is often referred to as the “King of Porsche” or the “Purists Holy Grail.” So imagine what a rare find it is to come across a 1997 model in mint condition up for sale by only its second owner over at Hemmings. Purchased from the original owner in Beverly Hills, California, for $90,000, the second owner bought the car at two years old with less than 15,000 miles on it and has had it in Marin County ever since.

This six-speed (wide turbo body), manual transmission 993 has always been maintained to schedule by Porsche mechanics who are invariably excited about the car’s performance and appearance.

A classic grey interior compliments the rare Arctic silver exterior. Other amenities include titanium brakes, supple leather seats, aluminum dials and details, bright headlights and a stereo system that will enhance an already enjoyable ride. Always garaged, this 1997 993 was treated like the “King of Porsche” it is and with a listing price of $115,000 could certainly make any new owner feel like royalty.
