For the record I was not upset with Luigi one bit for starting the F1 2025 thread when he did.
But I did receive quite a few PM threats because I closed the 2024 F1 thread about a day after Luigi posted up the 2025 version. Some folks were pissed. I still have no idea why.
I feel like that is as much of an invitation to start the 2026 F1 thread as I am ever going to receive!
Carlo is going to keep the old 2025 F1 thread alive so that he doesn't have to go into the RL witness protection program, but I would say all attention will turn to the new Formula pretty soon!
Well since this is Nurburgring 24 weekend, there is no F1 race, and a famous current F1 driver is in the 24hr race this weekend lets talk Nurburgring. I know this place very well and have spent a lot of time there. Pic below is the absolute Queen of Nurburging aka Sabine and me. In that pic from fall of '98 she had just won overall the VLN 4 hr race on the ring. Beat everyone. She is wet from the spray of champagne on the podium. I went up to her gave her a hug and congratulations. I was also racing in the VLN series that year. BTW she won the overall series that year and was crowned the VLN champion. She also raced in the 24hrs a total of 25 times and won it overall twice. She was by fare the fastest women I have ever met or seen behind the wheel of any car. I only wish she would have raced Le Mans and DTM she was good enough and probably would have been up on the podium for sure. She was something else and is truly missed. She is also responsible for selling me an E34 M5. Not literally. It was summer of '94 my fist time up at the Ring. She was driving the famous BMW Ring Taxi which happened to be a new Euro spec '94 M5 with 3.8L motor and 6 speed. Why do I say Euro? Because here in the USA we got the M5 for only 3 years and it had smaller 3.6L motor with 5 speed. After my laps with her riding shot gun in that ring Taxi I went home, found a super mint '93 E34 M5 and bought it. A few years later the BMW M brand manager saw my M5 walked up to me and said my M5 was rare. He told me it was only 1 of 3 in the USA in Avus Blue. Who knew?
Second pic is from the 6 hr race on Nurburgring in August of '99. In that pic to my right is David Brabham and to my left is his father 3 time F1 World Champion Sir Jack Brabham. My BMW team out of Munich was running their race car a VW of all things. So they were part of my team for that weekend and in my garage. We all went out to dinner and I sat with them at dinner and we talked racing. What a night and what a memory I will never ever forget. I ended up going out on the Nordschleife with David in a M3 and he showed my some tricks. I'll never ever forget that. Remember folks David raced in F1. He was a driver on the Simtec F1 team with Roland Ratzenberger. He was at Imola the weekend both Ratzenberger and Senna passed away. Directly after Ratzenbergers death the team pulled out of the race event. He told me when Senna passed the following day his team was already heading back to their base in the UK. After F1 David would go on to race Le Mans 18 times winning it overall in 2009 with Peugeot and second place with Bentley in 2003. My big memory for that 6 hr race weekend was the drivers meeting before the race Friday night. I was sitting with Sir Jack and David when the race director announced that 3 time F1 World Champion was participating in that race the entire room of over 150 people stood up and gave an standing ovation. It showed how much respect the Brabham name has in the race world and a fact he was the only person in history of the sport to win the F1 world championship with a car bearing his own name. I got lots of more stories, for some other time.
Does anyone else run into the 6 device limit on F1TV? Between my wife and I we have way more TV/phones/iPad/Laptop and are often needing to ‘remove’ a device to login another.
We are AppleTV people and I’m hopeful that there will be no device limits on F1TV next season. We use our AppleTV on tons of devices with no limits.

I have this issue occasionally. We also use Apple TV 4K units with all our televisions.
I'm still worried about the switch from F1 TV to Apple TV. I’m afraid there will be less content, fewer options, etc.

I've long had that problem with F1TV. Various TVs in the house, at my daughter's apartment, phones, and ipads make me sometimes have to juggle what devices are enabled.

I disagree. I've been an F1TV subscriber for a few years and Apple TV since the beginning.
I think there's going to be a lot more content and more options, based on Apple's substantial investment and excitement in growing F1 here in the States.

ATV is going to run every on track event per weekend, and you’ll be able to choose to watch any Driver’s in car feed; in fact you’ll be able to see multiple of them using ‘multi view’ apparently. Plus all of F1 TV app’s product can be seen using your ATV log-in credentials.
