2016 Porsche 911 Reviewed

As you can see in the video below, the very lovely Rebecca Jackson gives the 2016 911 a thorough once-over, which makes it very worthwhile viewing indeed.

With regard to the added mole on the steering wheel that’ll let you select from different ride selections, I think know what most people will say: “What the heck is that?” Porsche’s biggest prowess has been making the drive of their cars simple and pure. I apologize if this seems a bit anti-intrinsic, but I don’t see it as the core of a 911’s values.

Rant aside, I’m one who welcomes change, and the news of Porsche going turbo in 2016 for a good chunk of its models is not much of a shock, considering world climate and all.

Although the review car is the European model, and the steering wheel is on the right, there’s still a lot we can learn about the new 911. Most of the attention is focused on the turbo flat six, which it seems loses some of the visceral appeal that it once had. Actually, given the changes to the engine, steering, and other components, this is a time of radical change for the 911.

Will it still appeal to the true drivers? That’s to be seen.
