some gets spent holding the investors at bay, some gets spent maintaining a personal lifestyle that the investors stupidly expect, some gets sunk onto the buildings and busness and some gets sunk into the cars and teams and all that goes into a first class looking road show. I can see 8 mil getting sunk real fast.

That Danbury shop did make *some* money, I gotta think. I'm sure that all got spent on racing, too, but it did make some money. Probably a decent amount. But I still think he spent more than $8M on racing in five years. Should be interesting what the Feds uncover.

I assume you have never raced! It's very addictive and some will do anything to keep at it.

I didn't say I couldn't believe you could spend $8m racing. My comment was, that if you were going to defraud people for $8m, I'd think you'd spend it differently, like setting up some other place to live so when you got found out you had an "out". Stealing to go racing just doesn't make sense to me, especially if you aren't the one driving...

Geoffrey, I don't think he set out to steal $8 million. I think he intended to borrow a few dollars just until he could pay it back, but then it snowballed. People can fool themselves surprisingly easily.
