Default CARISTA app

Has anyone purchased the CARISTA Bluetooth adapter and app? http://www.caristaapp.com/ It seems too good to be true. $30 for the adapter and either $39.95/yr or $9.95 for a week. Check and clear diagnostic codes, service indicators and change vehicle settings. It lists all MACAN years as compatible. If true, this is a major boon for the DIY guys like me! I have a felling that it's only good for diagnostics, not advanced functions.

Used it on my wife's Lexus and was able to change several settings. i.e. Seat belt chime, turn signal quick flash from 3 flashes to 5 and some others I don't recall presently. Haven't tried it on the Macan yet.

What you can do on some brands doesn't always translate to Porsche computers, especially not recent model years. It'd be nice to know if it worked, make sure you mention the model year.

If you check the Features by Vehicle listing, it only does basic OBD2 functions on the Macan.

Default Carista

Used on on my Macan Turbo 2015. Gave me some cryptic codes that no one understood. I contacted Carista and they said that they did NOT support Macan evnetho their web side says that do.

DO NOT BUY FOR A MACAN

Here's a couple of screen shots from the carista on my macan.
The customizations don't seem to work and the "errors" seem meaningless.
Other than that, it's great.

You'd be better off with a generic ELM327 dongle and the Torque app (if you're on Android). Otherwise you're not going to get/set any Porsche-specific settings.
