Here are some pics. Sadly there are no part numbers on the switches/sensors

If that turns out to be the case and it's easier to drop it out we can probably do it ourselves(on a shop lift)
Looks like you are right! The connectors are flexible. I did not try to remove any of the clips holding them firm though, but they definately can flex. I'm fairly sure they could move enough to get the assembly out. Would be a two person job, but still. It would be litterally streching it, and I would not feed too good about it, but think it could work.

Here are a few pics:

Flexible connectors

mount/subframe is probably all thet needs to be removed (except for the unit/assembly itself)

Didn't see any at all, but I'll happily check again within the near future. It is a simple job getting down there with the car on a lift

nice catch Larry! That's pretty hard to argue with. Any idea how we figure out what pump we have? Bovien do you see any serial numbers on the pump?

I think the part # for the entire unit *may* be on the side ... but it does not seem to include the serial# that they mention in the PET page 000 111/000 112

Thats probably elsewhere on the unit...

I think the only thing to do would be to pull the p/switch from the unit and hope there is a p/n# on it... failing that I would hope that a friendly parts
dept guy would know how to figure this out based on VIN???

I was at the dealer last night, at the grand opening party actually-they've been operating since 2-3 months ago but last night was the official welcome party with Roger Penske greeting everyone.

Preparations for the event delayed work on my car, but I'm not mad-there's now a hurricane south of Cuba and it could threaten South FL, so maybe my car will be better stored there while they're finishing the work
Supposedly they ordered new seals-must be the $.11 ones listed on the diagram

I spoke to the Service Advisor today, the car was ready but of course there's Hurricane Matthew under way so I couldn't go pick it up-so I guess it will be Saturday or so depending on the level disruption from this storm. I'd like to speak to the tech and learn as much as possible what might have gone wrong and what other parts were ordered-

So for now I have to wait and go through this crazy storm

I'll run the car down the highway to bring it up to temperature after picking it up, making sure it's running right. I'll find out if the coolant pipes were removed(and that's why I wanna make sure there's no leaks)

If anyone can suggest other questions when I speak to the tech, please let me know-I will try to take close up pics.

Hurricane is gone, we didn't really get hit too hard-

glad to hear that you were not hit too hard by Matthew!

if all they did was a striaght unit swap, I think all you will be able to get of value
from the tech are insights into R&R if the unit itself, and how to deal with the
coolant pipes, not useless info, but not the magic bullet we all hope exists
to repair these units w/o full replacement and the associated cost (out of warranty)

Don't remember of the top of my head, but it was not related to the FAL and was shared by VW, Audi and others.
