Shame on you
Never seen so many non members (USERS) on one thread. Advise and activity here is free and a privledge, however it's time to pony up boys and contribute to this fine web site. BE A MEMBER NOT A USER.

I disagree. I'm a user. There are enough internet community options that are free that a required pay to participate service would probably not succeed for normal discussion. You cannot roll back the established 'usenet' era experiences. We do pay for internet access in some way, so its not free to 'us' users. Each person should contribute what they feel its worth to them. I get my value by contributing posts of value (I hope) to the forum and its discussions. Thats how I pay.

Jeez, it's a one time fee. What's the big deal? Would you rather deal with the likes of the folks over at 6speed who delete posts at even the hint of a conflict with their paid sponsors or support this site? A no brainer in my opinion.

Ditto here about the fuel pump. My car developed speaker problems and I took it in to be diagnosed. Turns out the amplifier went bad and they are replacing it. Service rep notified me about the replacement action going on and I'm getting the new HPFP installed next week. '09 C2S, not sure what date it was manufactured.

Sep 08 build for my C2S cab. I emailed service department my VIN and they sent email they were ordering parts and would schedule HPFP replacement when they arrived.

Now can you kindly stay on-topic, there is a lounge for these sorts of concerns........
Anyway, I had the same notice from my service adviser yesterday and he said that they were going back to the earlier cars as a precaution. I never had a problem, except some surging issues and maybe a stumble or two. But, who knows if it is the HPFP...... I was glad they took care of it for me. When I had an E46 M3, I heard that the Bremi ignition coils were going to fail, but BMW refused to replace mine. Literally, the next week my coils failed! I was not too happy about that, so I am glad porsche stepped up to the plate!

My car is scheduled in for it's 2 year service next week. My service advisor didn't mention this. I'll have to check.

i wonder which cars should be replaced. mine is a 10 c2s euro version and it seems that it is not included in the campaign...hmmm. and i cant doubt my dealer as they have replaced all the items i requested them to replace without a hitch...on warranty. can anybody give details on which cars are included in the campaign

Yep. RL got it backwards imo. Technical advice and input from longtime P-car owners around the world is free for anyone who bothers to register but you have to pay to discuss cooking and politics.
As for the fuel pump, asked the service manager about this last month and was told...."it's not really a 911 issue but a Cayenne thing". I think I'll ask again on Monday.

It may be that some production periods already had the revised pumps used in the build, others may have been replaced in previous service actions, and they are now only replacing those they suspect of being in the highly-likely-failure.
