Damn, was still amazed reading about it in Panorama. Makes me happy to see a high mileage car keep on putting on the miles.

I'd say depends how factory/OEM you'd want it...say very easy at 'racecar' level.
Probably not worth the effort on a car like this, for use as a daily(my plan)

If anyone finds a similar 6spd car...

if the body is clean, consider some mechanical refresh cost and is a fantastic deal to get into a driver 996tt...

The question to ask is what hasn't been replaced yet...

And yes, this is an amazing testament car...

If I remember correctly from the pics in the article, I think she looked pretty darn clean. Im with you on the manual trans thing too but I think it would still be a pretty cool 2nd or daily driver 996Turbo even as a tippy.

Think of the conversations you could have...

Stranger: "Hey, I love 996 Turbos...nice cars. How many miles she got?"

You: "Oh, just under 600 thousand."

Stranger now with jaw on floor: "WTF!"

I really hope that car goes to a good home! Good luck to seller.

remember the article too, my dad talks about it time to time...sister car to his.
Still a great car as a Tip, my dad bought his based on the deal available and doesn't regret going the Tip route despite only wanting a 6spd when searching

and when I say some difficulty of converting to 6spd, almost solely related to harness/wiring. The mechanical side is very easy, heck you even get a GT2 P.S. pump

Yup, I mean honestly if you're going to have a tip car I don't think there is a much better choice than a 6T!

Yeah sent the link to a friend that was look at it....he was like

Him: "Why so cheap?!"
Me : "Higher miles"
Him :"Looks in good condition........HOLY hell! Is that really how many miles on that thing?!"
"No way in hell! That thing is a nuke level ticking time bomb."
Me: "Nah, with that many miles it has most likely tons of new parts"
Him: "That thing was being defused by a monkey wielding a pick axe."
Me: "I should totally buy it, need that new garage space fawk!"
