Momo steering wheel in a 996?
Hello!
I am on a modding streak and contemplating getting a Momo steering wheel for my 996 c4s.
Anyone installed one? What is this washer that is needed with the wheel hub?
Thanks!

Is this for track or street use? What about your airbag?
FYI if it doesn't have an airbag you need to wire in a resister to make the car think its still there.

Whilst I agree its a great looking sports wheel, for street use i'd be keeping my standard wheel with the airbag.
That's my opinion but its your car!
I'd be in favour of other mods like a 997 shifter if your car is manual or even some bolt on performance mods!
However back to your original question, there are quite a few people who have installed a momo wheel:

Those links refer to GT2s and GT3s but they will give you a rough idea

Thank you!
yes I agree the airbag is important to me so I may not go with the Momo.
what i would like is to go with an xpipe cat bypass but I hear it is rather difficult to get the stock cats off. I also have pse and wonder if xpipe would significantly change the tone of the exhaust. Hmmmm

Removing stock cats isn't too bad on a '99 C2. Not sure how different a C4S would be. X-pipe is a great mod.

Removing the bolts on the headers seems to be the most difficult as the bolts can snap quite easily.
Going catless increases volume significantly from what I've read.

Airbags are overrated
I dig the wheel that Sylvain has in that youtube video above. Taking out a side airbag would scare me but removing the front is less scary for some reason. To be fair, maybe this inclination will be weeded out of the gene pool at some point.

Carnewal has some pretty cool aftermarket steering wheels - with airbags! The prices are much more reasonable than Porsche offereings as well... http://www.carnewal.com/Raid
