I actually had Machine Revival make me this steering wheel with my desired colours. It will be going in my car in the next month or so with some other things I purchased over the dreaded winter.

I put a Momo Mod7 in my 996. The washer is simply there because the adapter is a bit short. The threads from the steering shaft do no go all the way down the base. The washer just allows you to tighten the nut down all the way. There's nothing special about it. It's just there as a spacer.

what i would like is to go with an xpipe cat bypass but I hear it is rather difficult to get the stock cats off. I also have pse and wonder if xpipe would significantly change the tone of the exhaust. Hmmmm
I also put a Catless XPipe in my car. It sounds AWESOME. Even with a full Fabspeed system it was a bit too quiet for me. Now with the catless xpipe from Speedtech (much cheaper than Fabspeed and still top notch quality) it sounds like a race car above 3500 RPM. I love it! Speedtech's xpipe also came with all new hardware for the install. That was nice. I installed O2 spacers (not included) for the post-cat O2 sensors to avoid a CEL. I've had none so far and it's been 6 months of daily driving, spirited drives, and triple digits.
Here's the thread on that.

What's it cost to have a wheel redone if you don't mind me asking?

I honestly could not give you a very good estimate. This wheel was redone in France and was probably a lot more expensive than getting someone to simply redo a wheel here in North America. This wheel refinished in suede was a little over $600 CAD. I know you can find Momo wheels for a better price, but the OEM porsche wheels in alcantara are very expensive. Machine Revival was great to work with and their finished product (the picture shows it still in progress at the time) is absolutely beautiful. I will make sure to post pictures as soon as it is installed.

I bought my hub used and it did not come with the washer. I just took the steering nut to Home Depot and bought a couple of washers the right size. I only ended up using one.

Any issues with the airbag sensor/light? Putting a momo in a '99 996 and can't get airbag light to go off.

No issue, but u need to put a resistor in the airbag plug. NRG makes one predone with a fuse. It comes included with their hub. Also there hub is much nicer because u retain the factory clockspring.

+1 on the NRG QR hub. High quality billet, comes with a resistor but no instructions. Only videos were for Momo hub--for which you sacrifice the clockspring and hack into the pin 71. NRG much better. The Mod 07 has a deeper dish and gives you 1.75" more reach than the Prototipo.

Im not in love with the dish on the omp i bought. Im gonna try it out but may be swapping it out. I do have the nrg disco too so that extends the wheel even further.
