Default 993 crankshaft with 3,000 miles for sale

I have a 993 crankshaft for sale. It actually came out of my '02 Turbo ..

However, I removed it and quickly put it in a bag. I have the bearings to verify all of the journal specs including the nose bearing.

If anyone is needing to rebuild there engine or need a spare this would be the next best thing to a new crankshaft.

I'm asking $1,600.00 for it.. I also have the rods also..

Silly question... the 996 turbo Crank is the same part number as a 993?

This would be a cheap option for the few who have crank probs with their 993.

Same crankshaft and rods..

The engine case even dates back to the 964 casting.. I also have the oil pump available.

Knew about the case dating back to the 964 days. Apparently, the 997 GT3RS still uses the same basic design. Did not know about the internals though...

Thanks for the info. Not as dumb today as I was yesterday...

The internals of the GT3 in all forms are not the same as the street turbo and GT2. The street GT3 shares the crankshaft with the racing GT3 cup, R, RS, RSR.

Also, starting in '04 Porsche redesigned the engine case. Reinforced the lower webs. Prior to '04 one could see the 964 casting on the engine case..

Which is the Better engine case, 964 or 993 and what's the difference. I'm looking to do a 3.6 conversion for my 1979 911 SC.

Thnx,

Nick

Nick,

Both cases are really excellent candidates for your project.

What does "conversion" mean? You are going to buy an entire engine and install it, or build one up from the crank up or ?

What I am getting at is are we comparing engines or specing an engine build?

Cheers,

Mike
