GT3 Front bumper on 911 C2S - Completed with pics
A few of you may know that ive been undertaking a project to convert the 911 991 C2s to the GT3 front end (just the bumper really)
After getting a genuine used bumper delivered from Germany, it turned out to be junk as there were vital pieces missing, and it has a big crease in it which was only visible in sunlight. I sent this back to Germany and got a refund on that.
A few days ago my new replacement arrived, and was pre painted to was ready to fit.
If your thinking about doing this, a few of the parts are changable from your existing bumper like the lights, washer jets and supporting bracket (and a few other connectors) but everything else you will need to buy from Porsche.
The plastic parts cost me just short of £900
The bumper was £1500
Rivet gun (youll need one of these) £6.99
Total cost was around £2400. However add £3 or £400 if you need yours to be prepped and painted.
So you will be looking at around 3k for the conversion..... but thats not all.
When fitting, the inside wheel arches to not match up, so i expect to have to get the GT3 ones (another £100 each) and need to do some work to secure the bumper better on the underside. Cable ties will do for now.
Here are a few pics, its a very do-able project, i also put a how to remove the front bumper video guide on youtube.
What do you think?

Honestly? Doesn't look right, especially without any type of spoiler on the rear.
Also, paint doesn't match between the bumper cover and fenders, at least not in the lighting you took the pictures in.

Hard to tell what level of quality the parts or paint are from the pics posted, but as an overall project I think it looks very good... I do think you've lost some of the iconic "balance" in the lines and should add a rear wing from the GT3 or at least a duck-tail. I like! Any vid of the process fitting / aligning the cover?

Every part used is a genuine Porsche part, and paintwork matches on the naked eye. Now you mention it though it does look a little off in the images, but i assure you it is not the case in real life.

I was thinking of the ducktail, im not one for the big wings, and have always been a fan of the ducktail so ill leave it for a bit and see how i feel.

Nice job.
The 911R has the same front bumper and the deployable rear spoiler. I think the look is fine.
If you plan on driving at high speeds, I'd look at having the rear spoiler programmed accordingly if you had the standard front bumper.
Curious, did you get the appropriate air duct pieces for begins the mesh? Looks pretty hollow from the pics. At high speeds, there will be a lot of air being thrown behind that bumper, and if not channeled correctly, could be problematic.
Also .... Had much scraping of the lower lip?

it is, and no, although they have shown what appears to be a .2 'exclusive' sport design tail but it has not appeared as an orderable option yet AFIAK

Stunning. This was one of my dreams (have a GT3 front end on a C2S/4S). I remember a 991 with this retrofit when the model was first unveiled, and it looked stunning. The overall balance of the car *does* take a hit since the front-end is so much more aggressive and bigger, but it still looks great. Get more pictures!
