drive it or ship it
My car is sitting in the dealer for 2 weeks. I should have gotten it last week but the weather was not great.
Its 500 miles away from my dealer and I have to drive my car there for a trade. In arizona, taxes are higher and paid on delivery, while if you have the car shipped, taxes are paid in your county and mine would be lower. Basically, I would be down $1000.00.
Will you drive back 500 miles in the GT3 or have a truck delivery it to you?
Its a weekend and weekends are family day for me but I really would like to drive it.
How about you guys?

This is one of the reasons I wanted to drive it back so break in is done. When I did not had kids, I would drive back my cars back and enjoyed it.

Drive it, that's what I did. When I hit my drive way, I was at 1460 miles. I was lucky to a have good weather that allowed the drive back north.

drive. but im nuts, i would leave friday night at midnight, drive through the night (you can handle an all nighter every now and then, especially when youre picking up a GT3 how could you sleep anyway) and get there right when they open. have them have all paperwork ready, sign and leave! youll be home for dinner on Saturday if not earlier.
Still get to see the family, still get to driver her, still get the better taxes, still save on the shipping
but thats me
and yes i have done this myself

Wait - you have to drive your car there to trade it? Why would you not drive the new one home? Or am I missing something?
Enclosed shipping is about $1/mile, so it would be about $500 to ship. If you have to fly home after driving your trade-in there, that's more $$. There goes any tax savings.
I think when you said "I really would like to drive it" you answered your own question.
As an alternative, I'm sure one of us from AZ would be happy to drive it out there for you.

i'll ship it. It is a new car and things can happen , so I would rather be around home area with break in. Also if plan on clear bra, driving 500 miles can lead to some chips before clear bra applied .
