Unfortunately, I've not had the opportunity to have it back at the track due to weather since it was reflashed, so I'm hoping for a warm day at the moment...
It was a bit of a leap of faith for me, as I didn't enjoy driving the Cayman S on the track, so investing similar money to a GT3 had some risk. I had driven a Cayman R Racecar for 3 days this season, which I enjoyed more than the Cayman S, but really felt way too underpowered.
My GT3 should be here early December as it's currently in the bodyshop, so I'll be focused on breaking it in over winter. It'll be interesting to compare the two and lap times and enjoyment. I had always enjoyed the 911 more, but I wanted to have full safety gear. I have an RS coming as well, so could be running 3 new cars at the track next season.
IMO, anyone on the fence should do it, my only regret is wishing I hadn't done it earlier so I could have enjoyed it more this season.
I think a 3.8L Boxster would be the ultimate road car...
The Cayman at the moment is approx 2920 lbs including fluids and passenger seat. It's stripped, but we've not done anything to reduce weight yet. I'll compare it to the GT3 on the same scales when it arrives, but I suspect the Cayman to be significantly lighter.
Anyway, more to come if I get some good weather.

My Boxster customers are loving their cars and I forget about having that sort of power in a drop top! One car in Colorado has the Power Kit and stock intake and exhaust while the other has Cargraphic and IPD. I'm surprised how quiet the 981 is with the top up on the highway! Enjoy the GT3 and the 981!

Looks like a good photoshop, although the only real ? Is the wheels and the shape of the winglets at this point.. The bumpers and and all else seems pretty finalized.
I am curious which wheels will be used and what size, wouldn't be surprised if gt3 ones are used actually.

I think many people will be disappointed with the GT4 and have their hopes crushed like an ant. I like optimism but there is a reality too...
The Cayman is the worst selling model in the Porsche lineup and Porsche management have stated they cannot let the car outperform the 911. Therefore what we get offered could be just another limited version of what we aspired for - IE no parts from the more expensive GT3, an engine that is nowhere near 400hp, and a list of vanity options that make the car appeal / sell to an even wider audience than the GT3 and make it almost as heavy.
It would be nice if the GT4 is closer to stripped out race car than parts bin special with a bit of voom, otherwise it could end up as "the best Cayman ever made but slower than (deliberately limited under) the base Carrera".
Tell me I'm wrong.

I was under the impression the car would be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show in March, but I've seen a few people posting February lately. Are you thinking just teasers in Feb. leading up to Geneva or do you think the car will appear in all its (hopeful) glory at some other venue prior to Geneva?

I only "know"what I read here and another forum. The press embargo is expected by many to lift on February 5th. I figure that is good information because it's a few days before my birthday. :-)

My birthday is in December, so I think they should lift it then
I would guess that Feb. will be teasers, and incomplete info to build chatter going in to Geneva. I think both the GT3-RS and the GT4 will be there so there ought to be plenty of things to keep the press talking about Porsche leading up to the show!
