991 GT3 RS Wrecked while at Speed Shop
#211
Got the story. Will post the details later, long story short, traction control off, left turn onto a major road, back end goes, spins around across traffic, jumps a curb and hits a plumbing supply business. Owner was the driver. This guy was feet away from hurting a lot of people. Apparently there was traffic around and it was by the grace of god he didn't plow into anyone. Big thanks to the board for flushing this out. Once this resolves I will post a detailed explanation. These guys have no business working on client cars. None.
Left turn from 27th onto Gillum, lost control, spins across traffic, jumps curb and ends up in the side of Hodes Plumbing Supply.
This is something a child would do. Unbelievable amount of liberty to take with someone else's $250k car.
I'm usually a "two sides to every story" kind of guy, but there really is no rationalization for turning off TC and flooring it in traffic. So stupid.
And I'm glad the idiot's teenage son wasn't driving. What a nightmare claim that would be.

Hard to imagine that the frame wasn't tweaked

I must say GT Silver with the yellow PCCB's has to be the hottest look.
Imagine the $$$. Carbon fiber front hood and both front fenders. No surprise at the cost to fix it.

br911, good call I run a quant fund (with fundamental overlays). I'm not the quant, not that smart I run the fundamental overlay portion which is just heuristics and biases judgement application, i.e. all the dumb decisions we make as humans, then rationalize it all away without understanding the odds. So in a weird way, the fact that someone decided to make an incredibly stupid decision, with no understanding of how bad the odds were (i.e. risk of loss was enormous, risk of gain was minimal) is confirmation of how I run my clients money. SMH. This board has been great, I'd have kicked the dog and my wife by now.
I'm in Leawood. I would love to chat about your fund. How can we get into contact? Sorry to hear about your car ordeal.
Regards,
HGB

Wow... definitely great investigative work. Hope this gets sorted out to your satisfaction and that this will be in the rear view mirror when you are enjoying your replacement

Wow. He should seriously be arrested for this and severely ticketed and sued. I can't see how anyone would ever take their car to him for service again. Unbelievable. Something tells me he'll be changing oil at a Hyundai dealership soon.

STG will get to the bottom of that. I guess ultimately it doesn't matter but obviously could be a big issue for him if he wasn't driving. BTW, anyone notice the circular rotation of the water marks from the car? I can't wait to hear the story. STG no kidding, do you think he was actually drifting the car in a parking lot?
