Looking for 964 Turbo

Why would you say it was driven hard? I ran the Carfax on it yesterday. It hasn't seen more than a handfull of miles since '99.

90% of the time ads like these when the seller claims things like genuine speedlines and they aren't there is a myriad of secrets lurking within and the car is never a nice as they are trying to portray.
I just spent the past several hours diagnosing a ventilation issue on a car that was supposedly perfect.
Saddly it needs two new servos (unless I can rebuild these) and a lot of things the new owner had no idea were issues.
This will end up being expensive even with me helping for free.

I never trust car fax to begin with and if I told you how many cars I have looked at or know of with supposed low miles according to car fax that had the speedometer disconnected for tens of thousands of miles you might not ever buy an older 911.

Well said Cobalt.
HECK, there were a "myriad of secrets" with MY car & I bought it a dozen years ago when people were not really even TRYING to hide anything. We usually said things like "the car IS WHAT IT IS", and we forgave a few faults. It's taken me 10 of those years just to sneak up on some of the things my car needed (well,... maybe not "needed", but for me, especially doing Concours events,.. I just want to get ahead of things that "might" break soon,... or look worn out,... or need some TLC in the restoration dept.
So it feels like nowadays, it's just so much harder for the buyer to get the real story.
Always BEST to take a knowledgeable Porsche guy with you. And get a PPI. And yes WE all know that now,... but a lot of sellers seem to target that one person who will buy based on passion & impulse. Cuz as is human nature, once you find one of these beauties, and it "SPEAKS" to you,... it's easy to forgive a few faults with the car,... and the purchase becomes an obsession.
My car still "speaks" to me today. I can noodle with my car for hours & it needs nothing. It's a GREAT waste of time. It's my zen. I love my garage.
Peace out.

I tried that with my car once but the mice tried to make a meal out of me.
Now I just mostly lay under it and think "where's that oil drip coming from?"

I just spent the weekend at steve's house and my wife and I were his guests to the Chesapeak Challenge.
When we weren't in his beautiful Cayenne Turbo we were in the garage.
However , for the record , I never noodled his car.
Mike.
Thanks again Steve and Joan.

Bloose 993TT, yes and this one with a non matching motor almost 50 k miles, and SOLD just under $100k wow... I see these cars in the next few years doing nothing but go up in values especially if you get one with lower miles and all the check marks cross.....

Not to mention the repaint and uneven panels (accident??). I'm surprised it even brought in that much.

I'm with ya on the selling thing.
I've had my car for 10 years and even though there was very little wrong with it when I acquired it, my OCD has compelled me to make it perfect. That process will never stop.
However, no one will pay me what I think my car is worth as a result of all the love and mechanical affection I've lavished over it through the years.
One of the guys in our driving group sold his 40,000 mile Turbo 3.6 and bought a 2015 Carrera S so he could watch it fall through the garage floor in value. I'll never understand that move.
So I walk out to the garage, pull the cover off the car and think about how lucky I am to have it (tear rolls down cheek ).
