I also got my kit from Luke at Plays Kool. - No affiliation, great service.
As you are in the same situation as me, and are without an airbag - you do not have the slip ring that Arrowhead used here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...installed.html

I've looked at the parts catalogue and the slip ring is part no 928 652 211 00 "support for contact" and the wiper for the horn is 944 612 355 00 "wiper contact". But Arrowhead says he doesn't have horn function with his set up and is going to reroute the horn to a button on the dash.
Further to that the non airbag cars have a different steering column so doubt that you could fit the slip ring without changing the column as well.

I did a bit of a write up when I fitted mine 2 years ago (I have a trailing cable like some race cars) here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...tiptronic.html

unfortunately my car is 200 miles away at the minute so i can't get any more pics.

This is my current set-up which would like to add the paddle shift to. Does my current set up mean I don't need a horn ring etc?
The kit ordered is for my 964.

That kit looks nice. It looks to be made for an airbag equipped car which incorporates a airbag clock spring. It will be interesting to see how one would get it to work on a non airbag car without having wires hanging outside the column

Arrowhead, my thoughts exactly, that's why I questioned if it was the 993 kit because I think the 993 slip ring has 4 wires on the connector...

If I had a non airbag steering column here at my shop I would have an idea of what I am looking at and am thinking maybe retrofit a clock spring to it. Does anybody have a picture of a non airbag car with the steering wheel removed looking down from the shaft. I am thinging that if it looks anything like mine you could drill 2 holes to accommodate one. Any thing is possible and if there is a will there is away.

I would say it is possible, but i think you might need a new steering column, non airbag is a different part number and I suspect shorter than the airbag steering column in order to accommodate the slip ring.

you are correct about the column being different so if you could find an airbag column cheap, it would be worth the retrofit if that is in fact what you want. I am thinking that I would consider doing it and why not. Just bide your time finding one.
